The Operation Injured Soldiers Mission

Enlisting in the armed forces often means sacrificing other big parts of life. Nearly 15 years ago, Operation Injured Soldiers was founded to “provide recreational opportunities to wounded military veterans of all eras as a ‘thank you’ for their service.” Additionally, this nonprofit organization serves to provide veterans with recovery aid for physical and emotional injuries.

America is home to more than 18 million veterans, and it’s the dream of everyone on the Operation Injured Soldiers team to provide help to as many of them as possible through recreational therapy and good, old-fashioned fun.

How Their Many Programs Make a Difference

Operation Injured Soldiers is proud to offer a wide variety of programs to participating veterans. At Brave Hearts Estate, a 238-acre ranch donated to the organization in 2015, veterans and their families can enjoy all kinds of attractions, like snowmobiling, a 30-station 3D archery range, hiking and biking trails, and more.

BikingAdditionally, Operation Injured Soldiers hosts all kinds of veteran events. Veterans of all ages can enjoy annual 5K run and walk events, parades in their honor, organized motorcycle rides, fun poker events, and much more.

Science shows that recreational therapy, which is the heart and soul of this organization, helps veterans in a variety of different ways. The programs this organization provides helps to improve cardiovascular functionality, reduce physical and emotional pain, improve attitude and life outlook, and much more.
