Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

Windshield wipers are right in front of the driver’s face while driving but we rarely consider how important they are until it starts snowing and your vehicle gets splashed with highway slush from a truck on the I-96. When something like this happens and your visibility is reduced momentarily, all of the sudden you’re thinking about your windshield wiper performance and wiper blade integrity.

As you probably know from living in Michigan, the variable weather and things like Mayfly hatching will test your windshield wiper performance and cause wiper blades to wear out quickly. As we start to enter winter’s coldest days in Michigan, we have your wiper blades, driver’s visibility, and passenger safety on our mind. At Feldman Chevrolet of New Hudson, we recommend regular Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement if you live in Michigan because it is an easy way to maximize your visibility and safety during adverse weather conditions.

WIPERS & WIPER BLADES

Wiper Blade design is both a strength and weakness. Wiper blades are designed from a composite rubber material that allows them to be flexible enough to hug the windshield and remove any obstructions effectively. The problem is that wiper blade rubber will start to wear out eventually and is especially prone to wear and tear from certain factors like turning on the windshield wipers when the blades are stuck in ice. Clearing ice from the windshields or being subjected to intense temperature fluctuations will eventually cause the rubber composite to wear out entirely. When that happens, you won’t be able to clear the windshield of obstructions and your visibility and safety is immediately compromised.

Here are the Signs of Faulty Windshield Wiper Blades

  • Rubber wear and tear
  • Streaking on windshield
  • Bent frames
  • Poor contact between the wiper blades and the windshield
  • Noise - chattering or squealing as the wiper blades drag across the windshield
These signs are indicative of faulty wiper blades that require a Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement. If you have any of these signs, we’ll have one of our GM-certified technicians remove your faulty wiper blades and replace them with a pair of genuine GM-approved wiper blades. You’ll leave the service center with a new set of wiper blades giving you maximum visibility and safety during adverse weather events.
